Man treated for rabies in Turkey dies!
Hasan Halil Faras, a Syrian national who was being treated in a hospital in Turkey with the diagnosis of rabies, died this morning. Faras had escaped from the hospital last week and was found in a vacant lot.
Hasan Halil Faras (30), who was injured in the attack of a stray dog in Syria’s Telabyad city and was treated in Şanlıurfa with the diagnosis of rabies, lost his life. Faras escaped from the hospital in Akçakale; He was found in an empty lot and was persuaded by people who knew Arabic and was taken for treatment again.

Hasan Halil Faras was injured after being bitten by a stray dog in Tel Abyad, Syria. Faras, who was first treated in his country, was diagnosed with rabies. Faras, who was transferred to Akçakale State Hospital, bordering Tel Abyad, on 19 August, was quarantined in a room there. Hasan Halil Faras opened the door of the room, took the cell phone of a patient’s relative and fled.
FOUND ON THE EMPTY LAND
Upon the notification of the patient’s relative, the hospital police determined that the person who took the phone and fled was Hasan Halil Faras, in the examination of the security camera records. Police and medical teams launched a search operation. Faras was found in an empty field in Dibat District, 10 kilometers from the hospital. Arabic-speaking officials were summoned to persuade Faras. Convinced after long struggles, Hasan Halil Faras was taken to Akçakale State Hospital by ambulance by specially dressed teams. Upon the event that created panic and uneasiness in the district, Faras was referred to Şanlıurfa Mehmet Akif Inan Training and Research Hospital for treatment.
