Why did 10-year-old Sara Sharif die?

Sara Sharif’s father, stepmother and uncle have been charged with murdering the 10-year-old girl, Surrey Police said.

Urfan Sharif, 41, of Hammond Road, Woking, his partner Beinash Batool, 29, and Urfan’s brother Faisal Malik, 28, were charged.

They are also each charged with causing or allowing the death of a child.

Sara’s body was found in her home on August 10.

An autopsy revealed that he had suffered “numerous and extensive injuries.”

The 3 adults left the UK for Pakistan on 9 August.

They were arrested at Gatwick Airport on Wednesday evening after stepping off a flight from Dubai. Early Friday morning Surrey Police confirmed they had been charged.

They were remanded in custody to appear at Guildford Magistrates’ Court late on Friday.

Sara’s five siblings, aged 1 to 13, also traveled to Pakistan on August 9, along with Mr Sharif, Ms Batool and Mr Malik.

The children were found by police in Pakistan at the home of Mr. Sharif’s father on Monday and have since been transferred to a public child care facility in the country.

Surrey Police said Sara’s mother, Olga Sharif, had been kept informed of the latest developments and was being supported by specialist officers.
