Who was Shani Louk? Where is Shani Louk from, how old is he and what is his Instagram address?
The identity of Shani Louk, one of the civilians whose body was smuggled to the Gaza Strip during Hamas’ attack on Israel, was determined from the tattoo on her broken leg.
While Hamas launched thousands of rockets into Israel yesterday morning, militants had infiltrated settlements in the south of the country. Militants also attacked civilians on roads and in houses, and took some hostages.
One of the targets of Hamas militants was the music festival, which was estimated to be attended by thousands of people, in the city of Ofakim, located very close to the Israel-Gaza border.
During the dance party held within the scope of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, successive rocket shots were heard in the morning hours. Armed militants then targeted civilians who were trying to escape.
While some people were killed, others were kidnapped. Among those killed was 30-year-old tattoo artist Shani Louk, a dual German-Israeli citizen.
In one of the videos shared on social media, Shani Louk appeared to be stripped half-naked, with one of her legs broken at the knee. Shani Louk’s body was haphazardly thrown into the back of a pickup by Hamas militants and smuggled to Gaza. His family recognized him from his tattoos and dreadlocks.
Mother’s cry for help
Shani Louk’s mother, Ricarda, released a video recording and said in tears that her daughter was kidnapped by Hamas with a group of tourists in Israel.
The Daily Mail newspaper wrote that Hamas first claimed that the woman’s body belonged to an Israeli soldier, but Louk’s cousin identified the woman.
Cousin Tomasina Weintraub-Louk said, “We haven’t heard anything, we are waiting for good news. It was definitely Shani. It was a music festival for peace. What we experienced is a nightmare for our family.”
German Foreign Ministry sources said that close contact with Israeli authorities continues to determine whether any German citizens were affected by the attack.
