The World’s Largest Snake Has Been Caught
What if a horror movie doesn’t adequately prepare you for the fear of what might actually happen?
For those who love horror movies or are just into fun nonsense, the 1997 movie “Anaconda” is great. It reveals how scary it can be for people to encounter an unimaginably large snake.
Of course, that movie is fiction. However, you don’t have to go to the cinema to experience a scary atmosphere filled with reptiles. Just last year, the world’s largest snake was caught!
What was the species of this snake? How would it compare to other large snakes of universal scale? Read on to find out the answers and embark on a journey that will give you goosebumps!
Web Python
The world’s most gigantic snake is the Reticulated Python, which has a story that can even find a place in legends. With its length of 7.67 meters, it resembles a mythological creature, and to befit this majesty, it was given the mythological name Medusa.
While this Medusa doesn’t literally turn people to stone, she literally freezes visitors in place and makes their jaws drop at The Edge of Hell Haunted House in Kansas City. Once commanded, this 158-kilogram snake remains completely still while visitors tour the spooky haunted house. Speaking of spooky, the owners of the house have to feed Medusa a little deer every week!
Burmese Python
Although pythons did not appear before the 1990s, these long snakes are now appearing everywhere. The most common species is the Burmese python, and these snakes enjoy hanging out in the Florida Everglades.
The largest Burmese python ever caught was 5.6 meters long. Even though it is not as tall as Medusa, it is sure to create a very scary sight when encountered in nature!
Green Anaconda
Medusa may be the largest snake ever caught, but it may not be accurate to say that it is the largest snake to be found in the world. This title probably belongs to green anacondas.
These amazing creatures can grow up to 9.1 meters long and weigh up to 226 kilograms. In a famous photo, two gentlemen are seen holding a 10-meter-long green anaconda. However, experts have not yet been able to confirm the length of this unusual beast.
