Who was Jamie Crick?

Jamie Crick was a widely known British radio broadcaster known for working with Classic FM, Encore Radio and Jazz FM. Born in 1966, Jamie began his radio career in 1988 at Guildford-based County Sound in Surrey.

After that, he spent several years at BBC Radio before switching to Classic FM in 1993. Jamie has worked there for over 20 years. He presented a variety of programs for the station, including ‘Opera in the Park’ and Sainsbury’s Classic FM Youth Orchestra concerts.

In September 2014, Jamie’s contract with the station expired, and in October of the same year he joined Jazz FM as a guest host of The Performance Series. She then went on to host the Afternoon Drive slot on the network before becoming a breakfast show host.

How did Jamie Crick die?

British radio host Jamie Crick died on Tuesday, August 2023, at the age of 57. He died suddenly after a short illness. The master broadcaster was on the air just a day before his untimely death, which no one expected.

The sad news of Jamie Crick’s death was first shared on Scala Radio’s official Facebook account. It is the sister station to Jazz FM and Jamie has been a part of it since its inception in 2019. It hosted ‘Music of Musicals’ at the station.

“Our friend and Scala Radio Family Member, Jamie Crick, sadly passed away after a short illness,” wrote the heartbreaking post confirming Jamie Crick’s death.

“During his publishing career, Jamie has played an important role in the classical music world and has been an integral part of our series since our launch in 2019.

“He was a kind-hearted publisher who was loved and missed by all. Right now our thoughts are with his friends and family.”
