According to documents obtained by US Fox News, Casey repeatedly had sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old male student. McGrath was detained on August 18 and released on $10,000 bail. He is scheduled to stand trial in Hamilton County Criminal Court on September 6.

McGrath also taught at nearby East Ridge Middle School, according to school records. Recently, the center was named “teacher of the month” by high school students. The teacher told a student reporter of the school newspaper that her favorite part of her day was “interacting and relating to students.”

McGrath has also served as a volunteer volleyball assistant coach. She was described in the article as a “very kind teacher” by a high school third-year student, and said she made time for each student while they were distance learning. “He is a very caring teacher” the student said. “I could see that he respected his students, which makes me respect him.”

Hamilton County School District Communications Officer Steve Doremus said the teacher who was being sued was suspended from duty for the sake of the case.
