John Barnett’s cause of death has been revealed!

Former employee John Barnett, who testified in the quality standards debate that came to the fore when the unused emergency door of Boeing’s 737 Max broke off, was found dead in a vehicle in the parking lot of the hotel where he was staying. The death of Barnett, who played important roles in the company for 32 years, draws attention as it coincides with a period when the production standards of Boeing and its main supplier Spirit Aerosystems are being examined.

When the unused emergency door of the 737 Max belonging to the American aviation company Boeing suddenly broke off, discussions about the company’s quality standards flared up. John Barnett, who worked for the company at the center of criticism for 32 years and recently voiced concerns about Boeing’s quality standards, was found dead.

AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN STARTED INTO HIS DEATH

Barnett, who was supposed to testify in the case filed against Boeing the day before his death, was found dead in a vehicle in the parking lot of the hotel where he was staying after he did not go to testify. It was reported that Barnett died as a result of a “self-inflicted” injury. An investigation was launched into the death of Barnett, who retired in 2017. In the statement made by Boeing, sadness was expressed about Barnett’s death.

PRODUCTION STANDARDS WERE EXAMINED

Barnett’s death is notable because it comes at a time when the production standards of both Boeing and its main supplier, Spirit Aerosystems, have come under intense scrutiny.

HE SAID THAT LOW QUALITY PARTS WERE INSTALLED IN THE AIRPLANES

Barnett, who has been working as a quality manager at the Boeing factory where the North Charleston 787 Dreamliners are made since 2010, said in an interview in 2019 that workers working under pressure deliberately placed poor quality parts on the planes. Noting that serious problems in the oxygen systems on the plane were covered up, Barnett added that this meant that one in four oxygen masks did not work in emergency situations.

“I REPORTED MY CONCERNS BUT I DID NOT GET A BACKBACK”

He said that shortly after he started working in South Carolina, he became concerned that the assembly process of the new planes was being rushed and endangering safety, but the company denied this. He said that in some cases, poor quality parts were taken out of scrap bins and installed on planes to avoid delays on the production line. Barnett stated that he reported his concerns to managers but did not receive any response.
